Yesterday I wrote a post commenting on the success of social media in today’s marketing industry and how platforms such as Facebook and Twitter can impact the growth and reach of your company. Part one of this commentary discussed how Twitter out-weighed Facebook, so guess what today’s part two will be about? Here is how Facebook out-does Twitter’s micro-blogging. 1. Customers can see who you really are Facebook’s platform allows customers or potential clients to have a more personal rapport with the company. Blending messaging and dialogue gives people a more genuine concept of who and what your business is all about. 2. Builds relationships It’s not hard to see that users will naturally spend more time on Facebook than Twitter simply because of its very nature to create long term relationships. In fact, according to Alxiz, a technology intelligence provider, users spend four times as long on Facebook than Twitter. 3. It’s more visual For the right company, Facebook allows you to show off a little more. Thumbnail images of products, people, or existing projects foster more conversation and interest - versus having to click that link. 4. Networking made easy Facebook gives you an automatic demographic of who “Likes” your brand. It’s easy to market to your can base and gain valuable information. 5. Customer service Facebook lends itself more easily to answering inquiries and providing tips or product education. The platform allows for a more flowing conversation that is both easy to see and follow. So - there it is. A case has been made for both Facebook and Twitter; it’s time for you to decide. Which do you think is better for business?
