Take your movie ideas from paper to big screen

American Express has partnered with the Tribeca Film Festival to bring your best movies ideas to life with the help of a selection of independent filmmakers. Through  the company’s YouTube channel audiences can watch as ideas go from paper to big screen, in My Movie Pitch. Participants can pitch their ideas via 60 second videos through the contest channel. If you aren’t feeling so inspired the contest has also provided features of a few of the film directors and their film stories, to help get you working. And of course, you can always check out the competition through the pitch gallery. The contest will see a total of three rounds. Submissions are due by June 24 and will undergo public voting through the YouTube rating system of ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’. During each of the two separate voting periods the contest judges will determine the top five cycle winners. Winners will be selected based on creativity/originality of the movie pitch, the delivery of their pitch, the box office factor and the points resulting from voting. Each of the two rounds will see a total of 10 cycle winners chosen. Cycle winners will each receive one Filmmaker Toolkit, which consists of one laptop computer, a movie editing software package and one portable video camera and will advance to the grand prize round. The judging panel will then select one grand prize winner who will win a trip for two to New York City to attend the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival with a VIP pass. The winning pitch idea will be turned into a short feature film by a Tribeca Film director.
