Amethyst Jeans, the premium denim brand for 15 - 22-year-olds, with the accessible price is teaming up with The Maine for a user-generated content (UGC) contest that was inspired by a new song titled Growing Up. The Maine is an alternative rock band from Tempe, Arizona. Originally formed in 2007 while most of the bands members were attending high school, they go their name from a song called Coast of Maine by Ivory; one of the band’s influences. The Maine’s current band members are John O’Callaghan, Kennedy Brock, Jared Monaco, Garrett Nickelsen and Patrick Kirch. The concept of the contest is that participants should use old photographs and favourite memories to create a video that looks back on how you grew up. Submissions should use The Maine’s new song, Growing Up as the sound track to their videos, and can be made however you want - including with Windows Movie Maker or iMovie. Participants can visit Brickfish website and follow the entry instructions to download the song and upload their completed video. Videos will be featured on the contest website and entrants should encourage their friends and family to log on to the Growing Up with The Maine campaign and vote for their video. One winner will be selected by the band in four different categories including, the Most School Spirit, Prom King or Queen, The Class Clown and The Valedictorian, a.k.a. the grand prize winner. The Valedictorian will receive a VIP concert experience and the opportunity to have a meet and greet with The Maine. They will also be attending a concert decked out in one of three new pairs of Amethyst Jeans, autographed by The Maine, and some cool swag to go with it, plus an Apple 64GB iPad.
