In its fourth year, Pepsi, Lays and Gatorade have joined forces to once again sponsor the user-generated content (UGC) contest Team up and Bring Home The Cup for amateur Canadian hockey teams to have a taste of the big leagues. The contest is only open to Canadian residents and asks participants to submit their own story in one of three ways including either, an electronic video of no more than two minutes in length, an electronic photo and an essay of 250 words, or simply an essay of 250 words. Stories should explain why your hockey team deserves to bring home the cup in a creative, original and most importantly fun way. Contest participants are reminded that entries should not include logos, brand names or trade names of any company not directly having to do with this contest. With just under two weeks left to submit your entry fans can upload their content to the contest microsite by March 12, 2010. The contest will then go into the voting period from March 22-April 17 where visitors will be able to vote for their favourite entry once every 60 minutes. The Bring Home the Cup contest is using Filemobile’s UGC contest application hosted by TSN and TSN.ca. Visitors to the site can see a map of team entries across Canada along with the most recent and most commented entries. The microsite also features a video of the 2009 winners from St. Lazare, Quebec, the HRS Huskies. This year’s grand prize winner will receive a visit with Stanley Cup winner Mark Messier who will bring the trophy along with him where you can host the Ultimate Playoff Party with friends and family. TSN will also videotape the party which could then be featured on the TSN network. Finally, the winner will also be awarded a fully furnished home theatre system including a 52″ LCD TV, two leather chairs and much more.
