Be the first to know when Canadian’s win

With one week left in the 2010 Olympic Games no one wants to be the last to know what is happening at which event, or when a medal is won. This year Molson Canadian is offering Canadians a chance to stay in touch - even if they can’t sit in front of their TV’s all day. Molson is incorporating a mobile component in its campaign that will allow fans to receive text alerts straight to their mobile phones whenever Canada wins a medal. Molson will also be sending out updates on some of the Team Canada hockey games. Fans will not only be able to remain a part of the games no matter where they are, but they will be among the first to know each time their home country wins. All fans need to do is text the word GAMES or MEDAL to 665766 (MOLSON) and they will automatically be signed up to receive the alerts. The Molson alerts are considered standard incoming texts, so costs related to this program will depend on the individual users mobile plan for receiving texts. Molson advises fans to, “please check, we wouldn’t want to get anyone dinged unnecessarily.” Fans can also log onto the Molson Canadian Facebook fan page for regular Olympic updates or to participate in other Olympic themed promotions such as Gear Up For Gold, where you can create a personalized hockey jersey for your profile picture.
