Create a can for the U.S. Olympic Team

Pringles is making use of its Can Creator site once again in a user-generated content (UGC) campaign that will donate money to the U.S. Olympic team and has athletes kicking in their own creations in a pre-Games challenge. The Pringles Pop Art Can Creator site allows participants to let out their creative side and design their own customized can by selecting the background themes, texture, colour, gradient and even upload your own photos. Once your design is finished submissions can be saved to the gallery for public viewing. Visitors can use previously created designs for inspiration. Designs can also be shared online through various social networks with your friends. At the Games in Vancouver, the company has set up the P&G Family Home Pringles Snack Lounge for Team U.S.A. Olympians and their families who can create their own can designs and print them out. For each can creation P&G approves by April 25, 2010 the company will donate fifty cents to the U.S. Olympic Committee, up to a total of $40,000. Pringles originally launched the Pop Art Can Creator site in October 2008 to conduct cause-related promotions. The first effort featured a holiday promotion which donated $1 to the Children’s Miracle Network for each can submitted by June 2009, up to a total of $20,000.
