KLAS-TV, an affiliate of CBS announced yesterday that they would be launching the latest implementation of DataSphere Technologies’ LocalNet services in a network of hyperlocal neighbourhood websites in the Las Vegas market. The sites will provide local content offerings and present the possibility to expand advertising opportunities for local business. The new sites will also better serve local communities by combining the television stations already valuable content with citizen reporting and commenting focused on individual neighbourhoods. “With the launch of these neighbourhood sites, local communities will have a great place to learn about issues that really impact their daily lives,” said Christopher Way, director of digital media, KLAS-TV.” The launch of the new sites builds on the success of over 160 DataSphere Technologies LocalNet sites in markets including Seattle, Providence and Portland. It allows media companies to take advantage of existing brands and communication tools to build relevant online assets using technology and a seasoned professional sales team. “Similarly, small business advertisers will now have a very compelling advertising platform to reach and communicate with the specific group of people that make up their customer base. DataSphere’s technology and sales solution has made launching these new sites a simple proposition – they will be online within weeks,” said Way.
