How to make your designs a reality with Degre7
January 18 2010, 8:31am
Degre7 has recently announced its plans to launch its first-ever summer collection of clothing and accessories and is making use of Eyeka, the online platform that enables brands, agencies and publishers to engage consumers in its marketing campaigns. Eyeka has recently made headlines by raising 3 million EUR in a second round of financing. Previous investors Ventech, DN Capital and SFR Developpment are joined by French VC I-Source. The new rounds objectives are to accelerate Eyeka’s international development as well as develop new product. With just over a week left in the Degre7 competition, participants are asked to develop and create comprehensive concepts for a summer line. The company also noted upon receiving its first round of submissions that ideas should be anchored around a collection concept, with a central idea that is well explained and developed throughout the line. Submissions may vary in media type including drawings, designs, patterns, sketches, outlines, 3D models, pictures and powerpoint presentations. Degre7 states that its consumer is always on the move, active, free and convivial and should consider this when designing ideas. The contest requires that all submissions be entered through the Eyeka website - where participants can already view previously entered content and ideas. Entries will be accepted until January 25, 2010. The grand prize winner of the Degre7’s First Summer Collection, How Do You Picture It contest will receive 2500 EUR and an invitation to Degre7 in France to participate in the creation of products inspired by your ideas. The winner will work alongside the Degre7 team of stylists and models.
